About Family Promise

In 2004, Family Promise of Acadiana was established as the first Family Promise affiliate in Louisiana. We serve only families with minor children; that is couples with children, single moms with children, and single dads with children. Through a community-based approached, we help families experiencing homelessness, or who are on the verge of homelessness, reach and sustain long-term independence. Working with church partners and community volunteers, we focus on intensive, long-term case management, quality outcomes over quantity, and financial literacy training.

Network Congregations

Congregations in our network live their faith by providing a variety of assistance to families: Volunteers from host congregations provide guests with meals, encouragement, and companionship. Support congregations assist host congregations in providing volunteers, financial support, and help with miscellaneous operational needs of our facility.
