A partnership with a new Lafayette
business will benefit the finances of Family Promise of Acadiana, a nonprofit coalition helping families without homes achieve
and sustain their independence.
Family Promise will receive a portion of
profits made by The HUT (Hand Up Thrift), Lafayette’s newest thrift store. Owners Joy Miguez, Jolynn Moncrief and Debbie
Fischer have dedicated 20 percent of the operation's first-year profit to be distributed among three or four local nonprofit organizations. In addition, The HUT will
offer merchandise vouchers and work opportunities to Family Promise guests.
For information about donating goods to The HUT, call 704-4444 or visit their web
site at HandUpThrift.com.
